Feathers in the Cemetery
Old Creek Church


No piece of flesh or bone
remains but the down
is still soft of soul
taken flight.
This circle of feathers
may have rested on the snow
before the thaw
which would have shown
the imprint of
the hand of God as it
reached down
as owl or hawk
to enfletch the lawn.
